Even the very best online casino software providers have their bad days and this is why we decided to discuss some of the worst online casino games that were released in 2013. Some of you may absolutely love playing on these games, so if your favourite online slots happen to be Sugar Pop (from Betsoft Gaming), Underwater World (from Sheriff Gaming), Crystal Gems, Mystic Dreams or Paradise Found (from Microgaming), or Regal Riches (from Realtime Gaming), then you had better look away now.

We’re not saying that these slots are the worst slots ever made, but when you take in to consideration all of the other slots that were released by these same software providers in 2013, you might agree that perhaps these ones should never have been released. They don’t quite compare to the high standards that we have come to expect from these software providers.

Throughout 2013, Microgaming fans were treated to new titles like The Dark Knight Rises, Playboy, Sovereign of the Seas, Jason and the Golden Fleece, Racing for Pinks and Secret Santa, so it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that perhaps these players weren’t to impressed when slots like Mystic Dreams, Paradise Found or Crystal Gems arrived. These slots were pretty bad. They offer very little in terms of excitement and the bottom line is that they are quite boring.

Realtime Gaming launched a slot called Regal Riches and there is very little about this slot that makes you want to keep on returning. The sound effects were identical to all other RTG slots, but that’s not the issue here. It seems to take forever for the Free Spins Bonus Round to trigger and then when it does finally trigger it doesn’t seem to be very rewarding. Perhaps we just kept catching it while it was having a bad day. Maybe we will give this slot another go at some point in the future, but we’re not in a hurry to go back to this one any time soon.

Betsoft Gaming launched a brand new concept slot machine called Sugar Pop and this is quite unlike any other online slot that exists today. It doesn’t seem as though it belongs in an online casino for some reason, it seems more like something that you should be able to play on Facebook or on a Nintendo DS. It IS a slot machine though, just not in the traditional sense. Nice try Betsoft, but this one doesn’t get the thumbs up. It had some great special features and it could keep you playing for hours at a time with all the different levels, but we just didn’t like it – sorry creative team at Betsoft.

One of the other slots that we thought didn’t quite cut it was Underwater World from Sheriff Gaming. This leading software provider also seemed to keep going from strength to strength in 2013 until this particular let-down was released. It’s quite a boring slot (apart from its unique multiplier feature) and it really doesn’t compare to any of their other impressive 3D slots that were released throughout the year, all of which have immersive bonus rounds and stunning graphics for players to enjoy. It’s definitely lacking something and it is certainly one online slot from Sheriff Gaming that we would just rather forget about.
