What are Wild Symbols and Scatter Symbols
casino blog
24 June 2015

Online slot machines today are far more complex than they were ten years ago. They all have regular symbols, but most of them also now have Wild Symbols and Scatter Symbols. That’s not all though. You can now find multiple variations of these symbols and the main purpose in life for the Wild Symbol is to substitute all other symbols on the reels to help generate a new winning combination.

The only symbols that the Wild Symbols usually do NOT have the ability to substitute are the Scatter Symbols and the Bonus Symbols. Some Wild Symbols can cover just one symbol positon on the reels and others can fill entire reels. These ones are otherwise known as Expanding Wild Symbols, Stacked Wild Symbols, Grouped Wild Symbols, Wild Reels or Rising Wilds. It seems as though online casino software companies keep on reinventing this useful little symbol and this is great news for players.

Top Casino Promotions Worth Taking Advantage of
casino blog
19 June 2015

There are literally hundreds of different online casino promotions available for online casino players today, but some of these promos are far more worthwhile than others. The worst online casino promotions are the ones that come with steep wagering requirements when you have to wagering upwards of 40x times the bonus amount before you can withdraw. It’s better to decline these bonuses and wait for one to come along that has lower wagering requirements.

Online Casinos for Desktop Computers vs Mobile Casinos
casino blog
06 June 2015

Online casinos can now be accessed using a variety of different devices including desktop systems such as a PC, laptop or Mac operating system. You can also now access online casinos from most smartphone and tablet devices. You can even use some of the much older Symbian devices to play in online casinos. When comparing online casinos for desktop computers and mobile casinos for smartphone & tablet devices, there’s a lot to take in to account.

You can’t really say that one is better than the other, but you could say that one is more convenient than the other. For example, you couldn’t just carry your PC or laptop out with you every time you leave the house or office, so when playing at an online casino from a desktop computer you are often quite restricted on where you can play. Smartphone & tablet devices give you the freedom to play for pretty much any location, providing you have a decent internet connection etc. This reason alone is why mobile casinos are far more convenient than desktop casinos.

What Ever Happened to Sheriff Gaming
casino blog
02 May 2015

Gaming content from Sheriff Gaming including online slot machines and other table & card games, scratchcards and video pokers were removed from numerous major gambling portals when the company’s gambling license was revoked back in 2013. Some of you may remember the stunning range of 3D slot machines that this innovative software provider had managed to produce.  Back in 2013, Dutch authorities caught up with the CEO of Sheriff Gaming and arrested him over a money laundering investigation.

The investigation conducted by Dutch authorities actually led to the arrest of four individuals after authorities had been looking in to the business dealings of Sheriff Gaming’s parent company, Bubble Group N.V. The CEO of Bubble Group NV, Stijn Flapper, together with some of his cohorts were taken into custody on suspicion of laundering money and other illegal business activities, which was a great shame for players because Sheriff Gaming casino games were some of the most advanced games available at the time.

What's the Best Way to Get in Touch with an Online Casino
casino blog
22 April 2015

Occasionally something might go wrong for you at an online casino. You could be experiencing some kind of technical issue, perhaps with the software or with the sign up process, or you may just have a general query. Whatever your reason for needing to contact the support may be, you should be pleased to learn that there are several different methods that you can use which will put in touch with a professionally trained member of staff. So what’s the best way to get in touch with an online casino?

Everyone has their own preferred method of contacting the support, but sometimes this method may not be available. Most of today’s fully licensed online casinos today provide telephone support, email support and live chat support. You can also now find a growing number of online casinos that provide Skype support. You will often find that the telephone support is toll-free for most players, but we advise that you check whether or not this is free before you actually make the call. For example calling from a mobile is generally NOT toll-free.

32Red Casino Gets a New Look
casino blog
15 April 2015

32Red recently had a website redesign. No drastic changes have been made and you can still tell that it’s the same casino underneath its new exterior. The operator of this casino has toned down on the amount of red that used to over-power the old website, but they have still kept their trademark colour which you can see towards the top of the homepage, where the main navigation bar is.

Some of you will have already noticed the changes by now, which occurred in March 2015. The layout does seem slightly more user-friendly than before and the new-looking website also appears to be less cluttered than before. The same great products still exist here and the casino is still controlled by the same trusted operator, 32Red Plc. In addition to the 32Red Online Casino, you can also find a Games Arcade, Mobile Casino, Live Casino, Poker, Online Bingo and Online Sports Betting.

casino blog
27 March 2015

It’s been just over one year since Jackpot Party Casino changed hands and rebranded to Slots Magic. In fact the official transition happened on February 18th 2014 when Jackpot Party Casino (jackpotparty.com) stopped trading under this name. A company called SkillOnNet (aka SON) which also specialises in the development of online casino games basically came in and took over the reins.

Players have often asked “Is Slots Magic any better than Jackpot Party Casino?” Well, the short answer is yes. It is definitely worth visiting. It is packed with even more promotional offers and it has loads more games. Players also have the option of being able to play on the games either instantly in their browser or from within the SkillOnNet download client. It may have taken some registered members of the old Jackpot Party Casino a few weeks to get used to the new site, like us, but we reckon that most players will be happy with how the new site has turned out.

What are the best Net Entertainment Casinos for UK Players
casino blog
20 March 2015

Fortunately for UK players today, the majority of top-rated UK gambling portals do now have a selection of NetEnt games available, but up until a few years ago there were only around half as many NetEnt powered casinos available for UK players compared to the amount that are available today, in 2015. What are the Best Microgaming Casinos for UK Players
casino blog
18 March 2015

The number of Microgaming casinos accessible to UK players was dramatically reduced after new UK online gaming legislation was introduced to towards the end of 2014. Prior to this new legislation, UK players could visit hundreds of different Microgaming powered casinos and these gambling portals were licensed in one of several major jurisdictions around the world. To visit an online casino today, it also needs to be licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.

Unfortunately not all operators wanted to comply with the new legislation and this meant that they would avoid paying huge taxes each year, but it also meant that these operators would not be able to aim their business towards the UK market. In February 2015, there are hundreds of Microgaming casinos that are no longer accepting real cash wagers from UK players which previously did. Some of the operators of these casinos have applied for UK licenses, but others have not applied and are probably not likely to.

Which Microgaming Casinos Still Accept UK Players?
casino blog
28 February 2015

Right up until the end of 2014 when new gaming legislation came into effect in the United Kingdom, the online gambling laws in the UK were fairly liberal and there were lots of Microgaming casinos available. However, this all changed in December 2014 and almost overnight the number of Microgaming powered casinos that used to be available to UK players were no longer available. Microgaming software can be found in more than 440 different gambling portals around the world and at the time of writing approximately 230+ of these do still accept real cash wagers from UK players.

The casinos that didn’t already have a license from the UK Gambling Commission now had to obtain one if they wanted to continue offering their services to UK players. Many operators did not want to pay the huge taxes levied by the government and so chose not to obtain a licence. On the other hand, some of these operators have now applied for a new UK Gambling Commission license, but in the meantime these casinos still cannot accept real cash wagers from UK players. As soon as we do see more successful applicants obtaining licenses, even more Microgaming casinos should start becoming available to UK players as we move deeper into 2015.

Which Net Entertainment Casinos Still Accept UK Players?
casino blog
25 February 2015

Fortunately for UK players, Net Entertainment software and the vast majority of the best NetEnt powered casinos have always been licensed in the United Kingdom, by the UK Gambling Commission (well at least since the UK Gambling Commission was set up under the Gambling Act 2005). In other words, there are just as many NetEnt casinos available for UK players today, if not more, compared to the number that were available before new UK online gaming legislation came into effect towards the end of 2014.

In other words, you can still play at pretty much the same casinos as before. You will usually find that most UK online casinos are not even powered ENTIRELY by Net Entertainment (aka NetEnt). The casinos where you can find NetEnt games are generally known as cross-platform gambling portals which boast multiple gambling products and are powered by multiple software providers.

Games to Play at Online Casinos When You are Tired of the Usual Ones
casino blog
20 February 2015

Both Playtech and Microgaming, and several other leading online casino software providers have developed a growing collection of non-traditional casino games which are called something like Instant Win Games, Variety Games, Parlour Games, Leisure Games, Speciality Games or Arcade Games, or words to that effect. These games can offer a quick fix and they are ideal for playing every now and then, especially when you bored of the traditional casino games.

The majority of these Instant Win Games are in fact Online Scratchcards (aka Scratchies) and these are also often referred to as Number’s Games or even as Lottery/Lotto Games. Some of the other popular Instant Win Games that are also now widely available in these categories at most of today’s online casinos include multiple Online Keno varieties and multiple Online Bingo varieties. Most Keno games contain grids of 80 numbers and the aim is to choose between 2 and 10 numbers and then watch as your numbers are hopefully drawn. Most rounds of keno last around 30 seconds max. With Online Bingo at today’s online casinos, you can generally find 90 ball versions and 80 ball versions and some online casinos also now have 75 ball versions.

Why Does 'Spin Casino' Keep Popping Up When Visiting Certain Microgaming Casinos?
casino blog
13 February 2015

Since new online gaming legislation came into effect in the UK towards the end of 2014, many of you will have noticed that when visiting certain online casinos from a UK IP address such as Royal Vegas Casino, Spin Palace and All Slots Casino (to mention just a few), that an instant popup message will appear, recommending you to visit another Microgaming powered casino called Spin Casino (not Spin ‘Palace’ Casino).

The reason for this is because the operators of these casinos can no longer accept real cash wagers from UK players and therefore they must be affiliated with Spin Casino in some way, otherwise they wouldn’t be recommending them. If you click on the ‘Play Now’ button, you will be redirected to Spin Casino, which is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and IS therefore complaint with the new legislation. From there you can install the Microgaming download client onto your computer.

Spending Race Heats up over Online Casinos
casino blog
06 August 2014

Sheldon Adelson, the billionaire CEO of Las Vegas Sands, has returned to the trenches in his fight against online gambling.  He has boosted his spending to record levels, paying $290,000 during the second quarter of this year just in opposition to online gambling.  One of the key bills he's supporting, the Restoration of America's Wire Act (RAWA), would reverse the progress of state-regulated online gambling.

Specifically, it would force the states with existing online gambling—Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware—to get permission from Congress in order to continue their operations.  The RAWA would exempt in-person lottery sales, betting on horse racing, and fantasy sports. Late last year Adelson founded the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling.  The group has hired several high-paid lobbyists and has been successful in convincing many politicians to join their cause, including ones that previously supported online gambling regulation.

Is It All Over For Download Casinos?
casino blog
18 January 2014

When I first entered the, for want of a better word, arena of online casinos, two things struck me about the options that were available to me. Keep in mind this was back in 1999 or 2000.

And, oh yes, the online gambling forums ALL – without exception – warned against playing instant play slots. The reason: they were too easy for the online casinos of the day to manipulate and change to the detriment of the player.

Online Casinos for US Players

Online Casinos for US players are generally powered either by Realtime Gaming, Rival Gaming or in some cases, by TopGame software. The reason that so few US online casinos exist is because of the harsh online gambling laws that currently exist in the US.

Normally when you visit an online casino or when you read a review of an online casino, you should clearly be able to see some kind of information telling you whether or not US players are welcome at that casino. If you are a US player and you are unsure as to whether or not you can sign up to a casino that you have had your eye on, the best thing to do would be to contact the customer support.

The first person to cheat successfully at casino roulette was Joseph Jaggers in 1873. Along with six accomplices, the humble engineer from a small Yorkshire village made careful observations of all the roulette wheels at the Monte Carlo casino in Monaco. He spotted one to be seriously biased, and therefore predictable. By making use of this knowledge, the team scooped over $325,000, which is the equivalent of several million dollars in today’s money.

Knowing the rules of an online casino will help your experience of them
casino blog
22 October 2012

One way to gain the most positive experience from an online casino is to take five minutes to go through their rules and policies, because the way in which an online casino operates can be quite different from how another conducts their business.

For example, when it comes to depositing into your online casino account, you may have been used to a casino that allows you to deposit a minimum of just $/€/£2.00, which is ideal if you are a lowroller who seldom has any more cash to spare.

However, after signing up to a new online casino you may find that their minimum deposit limit is much higher, for example $/€/£20.00. This could really stump you, so always check through each casino’s banking policies. You can find this information in the T’s and C’s section or in the Rules section. If you can’t find this info after searching yourself, simply contact the customer support and they should be able to inform you of their current deposit/withdrawal limits, which vary a great deal between today’s casinos.

Johnny Chan Academy

The Johnny Chan Academy had a turbulent past and was operational for a while, but has since closed down. This section takes a brief look at the Johnny Chan Academy, which was a Casino Dealer School that aimed to teach aspiring croupiers (dealers) the finer details of table etiquette in the casino. This included how to handle the chips in the appropriate manner, how to actually shuffle the cards correctly, how to deal the cards and also taught about standard casino procedures.

The tuition that was available from the Johnny Chan Academy offered extensive knowledge surrounding the most popular Vegas-style cards games, such as Baccarat, Blackjack and various different Poker varieties. This invaluable insight into the world of dealing was aimed at preparing dealers for the inevitable problematic circumstances that could occur while dealing. It also offered potential candidates assistance in finding future employment as dealers.

How to understand Casino Reviews
casino blog
10 October 2012

Online casino reviews should generally be quite easy for players to understand because their main purpose is to just provide players with relevant information about the online casino in question. Most of today’s online casino reviews are written in a concise manner and they only contain the important details about a casino, plus information that players are often unaware of, but should be aware of.

The most important thing about an online casino is that it is a fully licensed gambling portal, which you will be able to find out from the review. There are several trusted licensing jurisdictions around the world today including Curaçao (in the Netherlands Antilles), Gibraltar, Malta, the Isle of Man, Alderney (a UK Channel Island), Kahnawake (Canadian Mohawk territory) and even Antigua. Today’s most reliable and trustworthy online casinos hold a license from one of these jurisdictions.

The new wave of 3D slot games and what might be next

Who's filling the USA gap?
casino blog
18 August 2012

Many of the companies that offered gambling services to US players were either shut down for business or they had to relocate and operate from a new offshore location. This left US players with very few portals to choose from, especially when compared to the selection that UK, Canadian, European and South African players have available to them.

The main secure portals for US players that keep popping up over and over again when you perform online searches include websites such as All Star Slots, Club USA (Club World), BetOnline, Win Palace Casino, Grand Parker Casino and of course Bovada (formerly Bodog but recently rebranded). Bovada remains the most popular out of all of these.

As of December 2011, online gamblers from the US could no longer place real cash wagers at bodog, which is why the company rebranded to Bovada.

Most US players will now be familiar with the Bovada brand. This secure gambling portal is accessible for US players. It is owned by the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group and in addition to using Realtime Gaming software it has also incorporated its very own proprietary software and Digital Gaming Solutions (DGS) software into its platform. Bovada has a modern and stylish feel and the smooth interface is extremely user-friendly.

How to Select an Online Casino
casino blog
30 June 2012

With new dozens of casino sites cropping up every day, finding a fun, safe and reputable one can seem as daunting as finding a needle in a haystack.  With big bonuses and bundles of ‘free cash’ being offered, it could be tempting to be sucked into something you are not entirely happy with.  The good news is that by following this guide, you could be spinning the slots or beating the banker in no time at all.

  • Make a list of what you want from an online casino.  Do you want to play lots of different games or specialise in just one or two? How often will you play and how much are you likely to deposit? Will you be using the same computer to play from or will you be moving around?  Downloadable software is best if you’ll be sticking to the same PC to play, but ‘instant’ or ‘flash’ play is a good option for those using mobile devices or several different computers.

How can I find the Best Online Casino Promotions
    casino blog
    27 June 2012

Surprisingly, it isn’t that difficult to find a good, wholesome online casino promotion because pretty much each online casino offers at least one or more lucrative special offers and most of them are well worth trying to get your hands on.

The thing to remember when trying to find an attractive special offer is that there are standard promotions that you will be able to find. The most common of all online casino promotions includes the matching deposit bonus. This particular sign up/welcome bonus is the most common of all deals and generally works in the following way:

If you deposit the maximum allowed, for example £500 and the bonus is a 100% match, you will basically receive double what you have deposited (a total of £1000). This is probably the best promotion available today as it guarantees you free money. Some casinos may offer just a 50% match up to £100 whereas others may offer a tidy 200% matching deposit bonus worth up to for example £2000.

Are Live Dealer Casinos Secure and can they be Trusted?
    casino blog
    04 June 2012

Live Dealer Casinos are the latest online gambling phenomenon to take the internet by storm. Most of today’s leading online gambling portals now have a Live Dealer Casino available for their registered members, and they can only be accessed after installing a secure download client.

Since the first live dealer casino appeared online back in 2006, it didn’t take long before others started appearing and now there are plenty for players to choose from.   Instead of virtual games that have been developed by software providers using realistic looking tables and realistic sounds of a casino, the live dealer casino is actually set in a secure casino environment with real tables, real croupiers and reals sounds.

Once you have registered with an online casino that has a live dealer casino included in their product, the only way you will be able to access the live dealer games is by installing their downloadable casino program and then making a deposit into your gambling account.

    The oldest online casino
    casino blog
    14 April 2012

The earliest online casinos first started appearing back in the mid 90’s and there has long been debate over who was actually the first ever online casino. You can land on the homepage of several leading online casinos and you will find the sentence “the oldest online casino” or words to that effect, but they can’t all be the oldest.

Many people will argue that Intercasino were the first, others will tell you that Intertops Casino was the first to launch but then many will point out that Gaming Club Casino is the oldest. This section explores the truth behind who is actually the oldest. One thing is for sure though, that both Intercasino and Gaming club are without a doubt two of the oldest online casinos.

If you visit the Gaming Club Casino, you will read the words “1st Online Casino, Est. 1994.” This technically makes them the oldest online casino in the world. However, this fact is slightly misconstrued.

How has WMS gaming done in the last 18 months with the new online games
    casino blog
    28 March 2012

The short answer is that this software provider has done very well indeed and the reason they have done so well isn’t down to pure coincidence.

WMS Gaming software can be found exclusively at Jackpot Party casino (which is a wholly owned subsidiary of WMS) and the games are only accessible to UK based players. This cutting edge online casino is fully licensed in the Channel Island licensing jurisdiction of Alderney and although there are many player location restrictions, they have still managed to acquire a huge fan base from within the UK.

Since WMS Gaming first launched their non-downloadable (Flash-based) casino platform in 2010, the software company has gone from strength to strength and has continued releasing their latest games on a regular basis, leaving them with the impressive catalogue of games that they have today.

WMS Gaming have acquired several licenses that has allowed them to develop branded name games which are generally slots, such as Star Trek™, I Love Lucy™, The Lord of the Rings™, Bruce Lee™ and The Wizard of Oz™, to mention just a few.

A future perspective on online slot machines
    casino blog
    04 February 2012

Slots have come a long way in the past few years alone. The gameplay and graphics have improved dramatically with both Classic Slots and Video Slots and the recent introduction of i-Slots has given us a glimpse of what the not-too-distant future may hold for online slots.

As more and more software companies continue churning out their latest creations, some try to be more elaborate and unique than the last, whereas others have a winning formula and simply mass produce slots that are very similar, and only have minor differences in the themes they offer.

Classic Slots will always be around and there is very little that you can do with these. Then we take a step up to the more advanced Video Slots. These games included scatter symbols, wild symbols, free spins and bonus rounds. These slots really excited the players when they hit the scene and became widely available, instantly attracting a huge fan base.

Is Rival Casinos going to fall over and die?
    casino blog
    03 February 2012

In online terms, Rival Casinos haven’t been around for a great length of time. They first launched in 2006. They provided a unique approach to how online casinos were to operate and little did they know they there would be tough times ahead, many tough times.

The company are very resilient, but there is only so much a company can take before they admit defeat and cannot take any more blows.

The introduction of the highly innovative i-Slots looked to be a huge success but the idea came at just the wrong time. The Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIEGA) was passed and threatened the entire operations of online gambling in the US, including Rival Casinos.

Cracks then started to appear when in 2008, T2, a marketing company whom Rival had entered into a marketing agreement with claimed that Rival’s four owners had breached this agreement, which the lead to a lawsuit and they incurred a huge payout of approximately C$500,000 to T2 Marketing.

How to deal with non-paying online casinos
    casino blog
    21 January 2012

The fortunate thing for players is that most online casinos will payout without fail and usually within a maximum of 48hrs. The time taken to withdraw funds may vary from one online casino to the next and this could also depend on how much you are trying to withdraw.

If you are just trying to withdraw £20, in many cases this can be instant, or within a couple of hours. If you have a substantial jackpot win of £5,000 or more, this could take longer to withdraw. Most large wins will need to be verified by the casino before they are paid out, so you may experience a slight delay on larger wins. Don’t panic because the funds are taking longer to arrive.

The unfortunate thing for players is that there are a growing number of rogue casinos out there who have not been paying out winnings to their players. You may have already spent hundreds in the casino and finally hit a big win only to realise that they are not paying you when you proceed to withdraw.

How to handle bonus disputes at online casinos
    casino blog
    18 January 2012

Players must always ensure that they have read and fully understood the terms and conditions of an online casino bonus. Failure to familiarise yourself with the requirements in order to fully benefit from a promotional offers often results in players not achieving their full bonus, and this is through no fault of the casino.

Registered members are generally not aware of the wagering (playthrough) requirements needed to complete a bonus. The limits set by most online casinos are also generally not within reach of most player’s realistic capabilities. The bonus will require the player to wager a large amount of cash and within a certain period of time.

Many players simply do not have enough hours in the day to complete the wagering requirements and therefore will not receive the full bonus. This is the players fault for not realising the commitment needed in the first place, prior to signing up. To receive a sign up bonus (for example a matching deposit bonus), simply depositing the minimum amount is also not always enough, which players also tend to overlook.

How exactly do you redeem online casino bonuses?
    casino blog
    14 January 2012

There are in fact several different answers to this question and this will depend on which type of online casino bonus you are trying to redeem. The starting point to redeeming any online casino bonus is to actually sign up to the casino and become a registered member. Casinos do not just hand out bonuses to any old internet surfer.

Registration is usually free and simple and there is also usually a rule with most online casinos that states that only one member per household may register an account. You cannot open multiple accounts with an online casino and use the same house address. Once you have become a member of the casino, you can now start to redeem your bonus. The registration is the easy part.

There are numerous ‘No Deposit Casinos’ out there today, which offer new players a small amount of bonus funds to get you started, for free! This could be anywhere in the region of £2 up to a maximum of usually no more than £25. Players do not normally have to make a deposit into their account to receive these funds and this bonus cash will appear as either ‘Free Cash’, or ‘Bonus Funds’. Whatever the casino calls this cash, it is free and can be used to play on selected games in the casino in the Real Cash Mode.

Which Online Casino Has Comp Points worth Collecting and Why?
    casino blog
    21 November 2011

Most of today’s online casinos have some form of loyalty scheme. It is actually quite uncommon to find one that doesn’t have a loyalty program or VIP scheme of some sort.

The main aim of these programs is to encourage players to carry on spending money and playing at their casino on a regular basis. They promise to then reward these loyal players for their efforts. The more frequently someone plays (in real cash mode) at a casino, the more points he or she will earn and therefore climb the ranks. These points can be referred to as comp points, loyalty points or frequent player points (FPP).

There are usually different levels or ‘tiers’ to each loyalty scheme ranging from between three to eight different levels. Each tier will come with its own special rewards and perks that a player can benefit from. Many casinos give the player the first level of loyalty complimentary, but others will make them work for their position within the ranks

Which Online Casino Accreditations are real and which are Just Plain Fake?
    casino blog
    19 November 2011

Players should consider online casino’s accreditations prior to signing up with them. The logos of these ‘seals if approval’ can normally be located at the bottom of the homepage, which you can hover over and they are usually clickable meaning that once clicked, you will be sent directly to the site which approved them for being a ‘fair’, ‘trusted’ or ‘certified’ site. There are several different types of accreditation that combine to make a casino a safe and secure website.

There are certain standards that players will notice with accredited online casinos that weaker online casinos simply won’t have. It’s simple, no certification, don’t trust them. If a casino claims that they are the ‘Number 1 Casino in Europe’, and have this advertised in bright neon letters, it is sure to fool hundreds of people, but where did they obtain this fact, who voted for them to become the ‘Number 1 Casino in Europe’, and what was the organisation that awarded the website with this accreditation?

This is an obvious example of how some casinos can award themselves with fake accreditations that should simply be ignored. It is hard for a ‘newbie’ (new player) to ever realise that these websites will say anything to get you to sign up. Unfortunately many players get misled.

How do Online Casinos get Good Reputations and what makes them Trustworthy?
    casino blog
    11 November 2011

Online casinos can acquire a solid reputation for several different reasons. There are many casinos that are still around today since the first online casino was launched in the mid 90’s, but many of the weaker ones no longer exist. The UK saw a boom in online casinos that stemmed from major high street bookies, so players who already knew the operator instantly trusted their new online ventures, which gave these casinos a huge advantage in gathering new players.

Casinos that have been around for longer generally have a better reputation compared with recently launched casinos, because of their impeccable track record regarding customer service, payouts, security and overall integrity, as well as the countless reviews that show them in a good light. It’s impossible for a new casino to instantly gain a good reputation, unless they happen to be owned by an already trusted and responsible operator.

How can you Test the Customer Service at an Online Casino before you play?
    casino blog
    09 November 2011

One way of checking whether or not the online casino that you are considering joining can be trusted or not is to check if their customer service is helpful and efficient. If they are not very helpful to begin with, this is not a good sign for the future, especially if you ever need to report a problem.

Prior to signing up and registering a real cash account at one of the many online casinos, players can test the water by contacting the customer service and asking a few questions. One way of contacting them is by using the Live Chat feature, but not all online casinos have this option. If a casino doesn’t have a Live Chat feature, they will definitely have telephone support and either an email address to contact them on or an online email entry form. Most of the reputable casinos have Live Chat. Some of the online casinos may only grant access to their live chat to registered members only.

There may be different telephone numbers available depending on which country you are located in. Therefore the support language may also vary so dial the number which is most relevant to you. If you send an email, or use the online email entry form, you can expect a response from the support within a maximum of 48 hours.

Top 5 things to lookout for on T&Cs of online casinos
    casino blog
    01 November 2011

Players are often duped into signing up with an online casino without ever reading the terms and conditions of a promotional offer. If a welcome offer appears too good to be true, it probably is.

There are several rogue casinos out there who promise the world but do very little to keep their promise and when you contact the customer support, they simply throw the Terms and Conditions at you, which to be honest you should have read.

The good news is that most online casinos are operated by reputable owners. The bad news is that on occasion, some will slip through the vast net and go undetected for a while before they surface on the casinoman.net radar and arouse suspicion. There have been a few online casinos that are part of the Virtual Casino group who have been offering their players (both new and old) a string of daily and weekly special offers in the form of a coupon code system.

    Vintage Vegas takes another spin
    casino blog
    04 September 2011

Chris Phillips alias Zowie Bowie also known as the man with constant and very obvious fake tan, has been wowing the Las Vegas lounges since 2006 with his wacky performances which he had been doing so expertly along with his then-fiancée.

The gleaming wide smile of the curvaceous Marley Taylor had drawn the crowds in to admire and ogle at the various outfits that both performers dared to wear during their flash performances and to marvel at the dance moves that Marley performed throughout. But then things went a little wrong for the couple as Marley decided to quit to go off with another man who was unfortunately the musical director of their show.

But all is not lost as Phillips has hired a new musical conductor who just happens to be the man that Marley went off with in the first place. It sounds like a story out of the roman era of trickery and deceit, but Phillips is convinced that the three of them will make the performance and therefore the whole show tighter and more intimate than it ever was in the past.

Single Zero Roulette Vs Double Zero Roulette
    casino blog
    31 August 2011

Place your bets is the phrase you will hear in casinos all over the world, it is followed by a mad flurry of players trying to get their chips down on the table before the Croupier announces ‘Rien ne va plus’ a few seconds before the ball drops neatly into the winning number, well at least that is what they would say if you were playing French Roulette.

This is not the only difference that a player will find between a French Roulette table and an American Roulette table because the American game has a double zero on it whereas the French only has the one zero. Does this matter to the player?

It is all a question of percentages, and with American Roulette having the double zero it increases the house percentage by a fraction. Not a big fraction, but just enough to give the house that little extra advantage over the players. Does this really make a huge difference for the gambler?

How to play craps for the first time in Las Vegas
    casino blog
    18 August 2011

The whole concept of crap is that it is a fast moving game that gets punters on their toes and for those who know and play the game routinely, shouting out their bets and throwing chips on the table for dealers to maneuver to where they need to be placed, it is a really great casino game to play.

Watching dealers seemingly and smoothly whipping the chips away and then stacking a load and pushing them over to a player who has presumably just won, you realize that no -  he hasn’t won - he has just bought into the game. In short to a new comer it looks like organized mayhem that is really hard to understand.

Playing craps for the first time can be a nerve racking experience but there are certain tips and pointers that may help calm those shaking hands and get the dice rolling. The best time to go and chance your luck on the dice table is when it is quiet in the casino, mid-week is usually a good time with hotel rooms costing that much less and with less people around you will not have to wait in line to get anything.

Pinnacle Entertainment names a new CFO
    casino blog
    13 May 2011

Carlos Ruisanchez has been named as the new CFO for Pinnacle Entertainment after his predecessor Stephan Capp resigned after eight years with Pinnacle to pursue other opportunities. His resignation took the company a little by surprise especially as Capp had seen such success in improving the businesses financial bottom-line over the eight years that he was working with them by cutting the company’s corporate cost structure.

Capp also served as executive vice president for Pinnacle during his involvement with the company. However, analysts assured their investors that there were no internal problems that led to Capp resigning his position at Pinnacle to alleviate any nervous reaction that this had in the industry.

Ruisanchez, 40 years old was the regional casino operator’s executive vice president of strategic planning and development and has been working for Pinnacle since 2008. Will the recession hit Las Vegas more than Atlantic City?
    casino blog
    08 May 2011

Las Vegas and Atlantic City have been hit by the recession but whether one gambling destination has been hit more than the other is a tricky question to answer. Smaller resorts like the casinos that are located near or on Indian reservations, city centre casinos and riverboat casinos have been less affected by the recession as they do not rely so much on people coming for overnight trips as do the larger casino resorts such as Las Vegas or Atlantic City. The recession has made people think twice about travelling further afield to a resort thus it has hit both Las Vegas and Atlantic City in a much more dramatic manner.

In an attempt to attract people to Las Vegas and Atlantic City both of these multi-million dollar areas of the gambling world have increased their comps (free stuff) making a trip there more inviting to the visitor. Some casinos however, will have only increased their comps on slot machines which means that if a visitor wins $100 in one day the casino will increase this fives times to $500. Other casinos tighten their belts when a recession hits and reduce their comps on all levels of gaming.

Unlike the casinos in the Caribbean who rely on the seasons for their revenue in the gambling industry, Las Vegas and Atlantic City need the short term visitor to keep their wheels turning and both of these resorts are not betting on great returns since the recession hit them.

UIGEA, the latest update in the situation in 2011
    casino blog
    07 May 2011

UIGEA, the Unlawful Internet Gambling and Enforcement Act came into effect back in 2006 to prevent financial institutions from transferring funds to online gambling operators and the initial aim was to stop financial transactions to offshore online casinos. It does not prevent the individual from placing bets on offshore online casinos just US financial institutions but it did lead to a dramatic decline in many online casinos accepting US players.

Operators like Party Gaming stopped its US operations immediately even before the legislation came into effect causing its stock price to drop by 60%. Another major player, Microgaming which powers approximately 100 online casinos also stopped business with US players causing a drastic reduction in their prices too.

In an attempt to change the dramatic effects that the UIGEA had on the online gambling industry a bill called the Barney Frank’s HR 2267 was introduced to the House Financial Services Committee but unfortunately it was not voted on in time by the House of Representatives so the initial full UIGEA came into effect on June 1st 2010. This meant that the HR 2267 bill had to be re-introduced making it a sure fact that any amendments would not take place to the legislation until a much later date.
