Useful Online Gaming Tips & Advice
casino blog
04 September 2015

The following advice is aimed at both newbies and seasoned pros and it is designed to help you improve the way that you manage your bankroll when playing in the real money mode at an online casino. Many players struggle to control their spending at online casinos and they don’t even realise that they can set spending limits and/or deposit limits. Some online casinos today will even allow you to set session time limits.

Setting sensible limits is crucial and we recommend that you set them as soon as you sign up to an online casino. You can find out more about how to set these limits either by contacting the casino’s player support or by clicking on the responsible gambling button. You should quite easily be able to set these limits when signed in to your gaming account and then by heading to the cashier/banking area. As soon you reach any limits that you have set, you will not be able to exceed them and this is a great way to control your spending at online casinos.

My Deposit Hasn't Arrived in My Account Yet, What Should I Do?
casino blog
10 June 2015

Making a deposit in to your favourite online gaming account is relatively straightforward and most deposits are processed in a matter of seconds, but what should you do if the transaction seems to have gone through ok, but the money hasn’t yet arrived in your gaming account? Before you start pulling your hair out and think that you have been scammed, you could just wait a few more minutes for the cash to arrive.

You should always see some kind of popup confirmation appear on the screen as soon as the deposit has successfully been processed, so if you haven’t seen this message then perhaps some kind of minor technical glitch occurred just at the wrong time. Check your bank account or your e-wallet account history to find out whether or not the money was actually taken out. If you are using a prepaid card (such as Ukash or paysafecard), you may want to try re-entering your voucher number and then go through the same deposit process again. If it now says that the prepaid voucher code is invalid then you know that an issue has definitely occurred. In this case you need to get in touch with the casino straight away.

What are the Best Microgaming Casinos for UK Players
casino blog
18 March 2015

The number of Microgaming casinos accessible to UK players was dramatically reduced after new UK online gaming legislation was introduced to towards the end of 2014. Prior to this new legislation, UK players could visit hundreds of different Microgaming powered casinos and these gambling portals were licensed in one of several major jurisdictions around the world. To visit an online casino today, it also needs to be licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.

Unfortunately not all operators wanted to comply with the new legislation and this meant that they would avoid paying huge taxes each year, but it also meant that these operators would not be able to aim their business towards the UK market. In February 2015, there are hundreds of Microgaming casinos that are no longer accepting real cash wagers from UK players which previously did. Some of the operators of these casinos have applied for UK licenses, but others have not applied and are probably not likely to.

Top Online Gaming Experiences for iPad Users
casino blog
29 April 2013

In theory, the iPad should be perfect for playing online casino games. The touchscreen interface is perfectly suited to making intuitive movements like pressing slot machine buttons or moving chips around a layout, and its shape and portability make it comfortable to use in almost any situation. Unfortunately, Apple’s on-going and slightly childish spat with Adobe means that their devices are incompatible with websites that use the latter’s Flash Player - which also happens to be the de facto standard for interactive online casino gaming. But fear not, brave casino gamers, as there are plenty of online casinos that have adapted their online offerings for the iPad gamer - here are what we humbly consider to be the best versions of poker, slots, roulette, and blackjack for Apple’s wonder-slab.

How do you do your Due Diligence on an Online Casino?
casino blog
12 November 2011

There is only so much a player can research when evaluating an online casino for the first time and when trying to determine the integrity of the owner and how they operate. There are many questions that a player must ask themselves before signing up with an online casino. The answer to these questions may not always be so clear, and how does a player even know if they are asking the correct questions?

This is where organisations such as e-Commerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) were set up to ask the right questions and perform the necessary checks on the player’s behalf. This (non-profit) organisation was in fact set up and established by one of the industry’s largest online casino software providers, Microgaming. The aim was to have an auditor who could scrutinise an online casino and carry out the necessary checks that a player simply could not do on their own.

Are Online Slots Really Random? How does it Work?
casino blog
06 November 2011

Players have always questioned the fairness of online slots. Are they really random? Are the outcomes as realistic as they are on a land-based slot?

The short answer is yes.

Online casinos use a Random Number Generator, which is usually abbreviated as an RNG. This is a computer program that is able to consistently produce a random and unique series of numbers every time it is used. The RNG’s used by online casinos determine the outcomes of thousands of Online Slots that are currently available. All outcomes today are determined by algorithm, a computer chip and an RNG. Software RNG’s apply to all online games including Roulette, Dice Games, Video Poker and most other Card and Table Games.

When it comes to randomness, both classic slots and the more advanced multi-lined video slots (including their bonus rounds) all have RNG’s constantly working to produce random outcomes and realistic results. The Random Number is in fact generated by a complex mathematical equation prior to producing a specific output.
