casino blog
09 April 2011

The Masters Tournament, held in Augusta, Georgia in the United States is just around the corner, kicking off in the first full week of April. But who are the favourites for this year’s tournament?

Although Tiger Woods has had a bit of a dry spell in recent years, he is still the favourite for the 2011 Masters Tournament. Since his last championship win at the US Open in 2008, Woods has been plagued with rumours about extramarital affairs, and a car accident in 2009 which left him with facial injuries. Since then, he has won the WGC Bridgestone Invitational but no majors. But bookies think he is now almost back on top form and that we will see a comeback in April. Tiger is at the top of the Official World Rankings and has been given odds of 5-1 to win.

Other top runners include Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood, Dustin Johnson, Anthony Kim and Padraig Harrington.

Phil Mickelson is an American professional golfer who has won four major championships and 38 PGA Tour events during his professional career. He was born in June 1970 and he was the winner of the Masters Tournament last year in 2010. Mickelson started his golfing career during college, when he began a golf scholarship at the Arizona State University. He graduated from college in 1992 when he turned professional. He won his first Masters Tournament in 2004, the second in 2006 and the third last year.

casino blog
24 February 2010

The Old Course at St Andrews - The Home of GolfThe Old Course at St. Andrews Links is said to be the oldest golf course in the world. The Old Course itself has a great deal of history to it and no one knows for sure when golf was first played on these grounds. There is a great deal of conflicting evidence regarding this, however it is clear that golfers have played on this course for over 600 years, with the exception of a 45 year period when golf was banned from 1457 to 1502.

The Old Course is located in Fife, Scotland and is one of seven golf courses on the Links. The Links itself is the largest European public golf complex; each course in the complex provides its own set of challenges.

There are many special rules and traditions with The Old Course including the fact that on Sundays the course is closed in order to give the grass time to rest. On this day the course is opened up to the people of Fife to use as a park. The only exceptions to the Sunday rule are when the Open Championships, Dunhill Links Championships, Ricoh Womens Championships, or St Andrews Links Trophy and the St Rule Trophy are being played.

Worlds Top Resorts - Cayo EspantoBelize is one of the more famous countries in Central America. Formerly known as British Honduras, and once part of the great Mayan and Spanish empires, Belize has a storied history that rivals Greece and Rome. Vacationers love visiting the area, and in recent years, more people are enjoying their stay at the private resort, Cayo Espanto.

There are only six villas available at Cayo Espanto, but don’t let the island fool you, it’s quite deceptive. With ruffled mangrove borders and a palm tree center, Cayo Espanto appears to be a very large island, and you’ll never see another guest unless you’re out on the water or on your dock.

The anonymity of the island has made it a favorite spot for today’s celebrities. Among the many famous frequent guests are Robert De Niro, Tiger Woods, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

As well as being breathtakingly beautiful and secluded, Cayo Espanto is also famed for its fine cuisine. This isn’t like a 5-star restaurant that serves appetizer portions for dinner - Cayo Espanto dishes out the gourmet meals at belly buster rates. With all of that food, guests will definitely need some exercise to work off the calories.
