casino blog
09 September 2011

Each year during the months of April, May and June, a little bit of the Roos-N-More Zoo arrives every weekend at the Springs Preserve to entertain visitors who flock here to meet rare and beautiful creatures that they have only ever seen on TV or in photos.

These welcomed weekend guests at the Springs Preserve are otters, lemurs, boa constrictors to name but a few of the many unusual and sometimes endangered animals from around the world that are bought to the Springs for visitors to see and meet them up close, interact with them and get to know something about the little critters that inhabit our planet.

Shows are held twice daily and visitors can learn all there is know about the animals they meet by listening to great tutorials from members of the zoo staff. Just by watching the animals visitors can get to know their personalities as they watch them fool around.

Singapore Zoological Gardens
casino blog
12 February 2011

The Singapore Zoological Gardens are unique in character to any other Zoo; the design has been meticulously thought out to hide all the enclosure fences amongst cascading waterfalls and vegetation.  This spectacular design gives the Zoo a brilliant feeling of being a natural free habitat for the well looked after animals and has in fact been dubbed “the open Zoo”.   The atmosphere created by this fenceless illusion is one that has given the Zoo a high recognition around the world.

The idea of a Zoo in Singapore was brought together by Dr. Ong Swee Law and opened its doors in 1973 with a small collection of nearly 300 animals.  The Singapore Zoological Gardens now have over 2800 animals across 216 species and offers an excellent retreat from the city for both residents and tourists alike.  The Zoo has over 70 exhibits with many of the different species living together in perfect harmony reminiscent to the African safaris.

The Zoo is open 365 days a year and offers two exciting journeys; the daytime jungle experience and the night time safari.  The day time opening hours are from 8:30 am – 6:00 pm with the last ticket being sold at 5:00 pm, the night time safari starts at 6:00 pm - midnight with the last ticket being sold at 11 pm.

Las Vegas Attractions - Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park

Las Vegas Attractions - Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical ParkEvery major tourist attraction city in America has some type of zoo or botanical garden facility. It’s a family-friendly and informative experience for people of all ages, and Las Vegas is no exception. Although Vegas’ zoo has a fancy name, the Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park, it’s still a basic zoo and operates as a nonprofit organization.

With all the many casino resorts in Las Vegas, one might expect any zoo in the city to be a large, lavish piece of property with thousands of exotic animals from all over the globe. However, the Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park only covers a very small 3 acres and is a relatively small facility that mostly houses animals that can thrive in the dry climate.

From the outside, the zoo is very whimsical and even a bit outdated in terms of everything that surrounds it. The low faded walls are painted yellow and green, and the actual “Zoo” sign looks like something from a 1960s casino on The Strip. The inside of the facility is kept nicer, at least, and the animals are cared for by well-trained staff.
